HMFA RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION FROM NCSHA
On October 27th, HMFA received two awards from the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) for HMFA’s 2007 Annual Report “It’s What’s on the Inside that Counts,” and for HMFA’s Youth Supportive Housing Initiative, a special needs program that assists youth aging out of the foster care system.
For the past 24 years, NCSHA has held an Annual Conference and Tradeshow, which is attended by affordable housing industry professionals from all over the country. As part of the conference NCSHA highlights best practices among the nations housing finance agencies and recognizes these exemplary efforts and innovations. This year, HMFA competed with 147 entrees in the categories of Homeownership, Rental Housing, Special Needs Housing, Management Innovation, Communications, and Special Achievement and Green Development.
”These Awards represent the best work of HFA’s from across the county. It’s a great way to share information about what works,” said Barbara Thompson, NCSHA’s executive director.
Since 1994, HMFA has won a total of 13 NCSHA awards in a variety of categories for innovative housing programs and publications. |
